We have heard of Emotionally Immature Children. Can there be Emotionally Immature Parents?
What does Emotional Maturity mean?
Emotionally maturity is the Emotional Intimacy provided to someone unconditionally. Parents need to provide this to their Children as a fundamental requirement.
It is the desire to know the child as he or she is without judgement. The child should have a complete safe space opening up to them whether in the form of words or exchange of looks or just being together quietly in a state of emotional connection.
Emotionally matured parents provide this space because they would be comfortable with their feelings as well of others.
Emotionally immature parents though may provide good physical, good education for mental care but would fail to provide good emotional care. They are so pre-occupied that they fail to notice the inner experience of the child.
As parents, It is good to have professional ambitions but i suggest please include your Children's emotional wellbeing also in the ambition. Otherwise, it would need more mistakes, more efforts and more time to clean up the loneliness, children would suffer as a result of it.
